Sisyphus Has it Easy
For those not up on Greek Myths, Sisyphus is the one condemned to roll a boulder up a hill in Hades. Once he reaches the top, the boulder rolls down again. So he basically has one job to do for eternity, but they won't allow him to complete it.
I felt the same way a few minutes ago, but it wasn't a hill, it was my inbox and it wasn't a boulder, it was junk mail. It seems that just as I delete the junk mail from my inbox, I get 2 more. I hate them and I really wish someone would realize that spam doesn't work.
You've heard all the rants about spam and I, for one, agree that it should be deleted forever and that those who send it deserve to be condemned to Hades, left to delete e-mail inboxes forever as more and more spam appears.
My main problem is all of the inappropriate e-mails that we get. Male enhancement, invitations to see girls in a state of undress, etc. I am being really vague, since I don't know who reads this, but you get the point. And as I look at my daughter getting older, I don't want her to open her e-mail, when she's old enough to have an e-mail account, to find this smut.
Look, I'm not against all of that stuff, it has it's place, in the adult world, and I'm not for censorship. But when you don't ask for e-mail like that and it has the possibility of ending up in the inbox of a minor, that's a problem.
Now that we're finally getting telemarketers to leave us alone, now it's time to strike back at the Spammers.
Who's with me?
